Dear hds,

I have downloaded the file and try to open him in freecad 0.18.
Freecad opens nicely but the field remains black.
Is there another way to get the frame plan?

Thank you for your answer.

I moved the file to another computer with a better video card and now it works.
However, I cannot manage to view each frame separately in order to be able to saw everything out by hand (unfortunately I do not have a CNC)
Are there any tips for this?

Could you possibly make all the frames for me so that I can make the hull of the U-boat as far as possible (static model)?
If possible, I would like to receive a quotation from you inl. shipping to the Netherlands.

Thanks for your comment

Hello,

just came across this. I did download the file and the import into FC 0.18.4 went flawlessly. Attached pls find the file saved with this version and a screenshot. I cannot see what causes these problems.

Is there perhaps a possibility to somehow place the drawings of the frames and the entire side here so that the hull can be made from this?
I have been looking for good drawings for 2 years now and I am a zero in the field of drawing programs like this.
Is there anyone who can help me with this?

Not sure what you mean with "good drawing". If you need a paper plan, get the "Planrolle" of the VIIC by Köhl and Niestle. These are very good drawings.

If you want to go with a computer and CAD software you can load this file into freecad, highlight the frame you want and export it to a DXF file.
This file could be loaded into e.g. LibreCAD, a 2D drawing software which is easier for me to construct with.
The xyz coordinates for the frames you can get from FreeCAD Properties->Base->Placemnet info panel.
My drawing is in 1:45 scale.
So IMHO you have all the infos you need to do your own drawings for the VIIC frames.

My pc is too old for freecad.
it works on my wife's pc.
I am now studying how I can bring forward (select) the individual frames.
As much as thanks to everyone for the explanation.

Finally I managed to display all frames separately and convert them to PDF so that I can print them.
Unfortunately, I don't have the option to cut them using CNC, so a lot of evening work with a jigsaw will be a lot of work.

All the frames are now printed and are busy cutting them out.
Made a worktop in the attic so that when all frames are ready I can easily start working on the hull of the U-boat.
Despite my 60 years I am as happy as a small child that I can finally start on the u-boat because with a very small benefit (health), buying such a size hull is not an option.
I am therefore grateful to you for sharing the file.
