You could use Fasteners WB
https://github.com/shaise/FreeCAD_FastenersWB
https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Sandbox:Fasteners
you can also have threads if required. The WB has been developed above the Screw_Maker_2.0 macro

BTW very nice assembly! It could be suggested for FC0.18 Splash screen :D

Thank you for the suggestion. I will be using that in the future. It is quite powerful.

I noticed your work and was wondering if you'd mind if I used the screenshots you've posted in a presentation I'm doing on FreeCAD to a group of professional engineers...

chrisb wrote: Thu Apr 05, 2018 5:28 pm I wondered why they didn't use only two gears with an appropriate ratio, but I guess it is due to aerodynamic reasons to have it all aligned?
Maybe a bit late here, but it looks like an planetary gear reduced to just one planet.

Generally Planetary gears have a few advantages, especially in Turboshaft engines:
- they run coaxially
- they can transmit a lot of torque
- they have a small build factor compared to traditional gears

The model looks quite good, it's a really uncommon design for a turboshaft!
