High quality draft with 0.18_pre

Postby roerich_64 » Mon Nov 26, 2018 9:51 pm

Hello to all,

many thanks to FreeCAD-Heini-1, ChrisB, HBC0 to help me

since friday i worked on a high quality draft in the german thread.
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=32395

I think now, it should come in the international section of the FreeCAD forum.

My question to me was: Can everyone make high quality drafts with FreeCAD as 'ppemawm' does?
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=29354

I found: YES WE CAN :D

Many thanks to all :)

It animates me to show how easy it is to come to those high quality draws.

Let us take a look to the backside part of the brushless motor and to the version of FreeCAD i needed:

The first thought is: How can we cut out the back side part out of the piece?

First, let us draw a Sketch and then rotate them:

Next step: Cut out the big holes.

Draw a sketch and take it 'through all' with the pocket feature, but reversed:

Now the Drill holes for the screws:

make a Sketch and take the pocked feature 'through all' with option reversed.

Then bevel the edges with the chamfer feature.

To do this we have two ways: select faces and/or select edges:

Nice tutorial and thanks for sharing.

P.S. Maybe you could add it in this forums section:

https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewforum.php?f=36

For example you could open a thread and to add an image, description and link to this thread.
