Air data computer layout
For an open hobby project, I need to explore the possibility to use Freecad for the 3D design of an air data computer. I proposed to the team (Basic Air Data brainstorming here ) a possible layout for the device.
I generated the 3D files of the PCB with Kicad (5.02 Ubuntu) then imported those as STEP in FC. I modeled different components in FC; other parts came from past projects.
The assembly of parts was a bit tricky; other functions were straightforward.
Overall, it was a good experience.
Thank you for sharing FC!
Re: Air data computer layout
Nice!
There's no electrical simulation happening in FC, right? Just physical design?

Re: Air data computer layout
You may consider to use FC0.18 pre which is the near next release and with many improvements
You may consider to use Manipulator wb (Aligner) for aligning parts and A2plus wb for a more flexible assembly.
You may consider also kicad Stepup @KiCad forum which has many useful feature to improve kicad and freecad collaboration.
