Amazing. Absolutely amazing detail. Nice color highlighting.
I know how much effort these models take.
More pictures please, especially of the internal components?

Was this done with PartDesign workbench? Which Version?
How did you route all the tubing in 3D space? I find that process to be the most tedious.

Did you learn any new technique during the process?
What was the most difficult part to model?

I love it.

As requested more images attached. This model took around 7 weeks to draw all the parts and assemble.
This was all done on FreeCAD V0.16 mostly in Partdesign WB with the use of some primitives to construct items like valves etc.
With regards to the piping, I cheat somewhat by making the pipes in sections and assembling to the main structure, the sections of the pipe can the be adjusted to fit an positioned by circular edge constraint.
I think the most difficult parts to generate were the main drive wheels.

How did you assemble all the parts? Did you use a special WB?

All assembles use 'Assembly2' and 'Draft' workbenches to place and orientate parts.
