Table saw with sliding table

Post by toralf »

I've got a Bosch PPS 7 S Push-Pull table saw, which I plan to pimp.
Basically I only want to keep the bare saw (yellowish part in the screenshot). And replace the table and housing with phenolic resin coated plywood and a sliding table next to it.
The table will be 800mm x 1230 mm. And the sliding table will be 300 mm wide and adjustable to match hopefully exactly the saw table.
The sliding table allows for 770 mm cuts in current position. But the sliding table can be moved forward and then with the additional 240 mm of pull of the saw itself I should be able to cut 1000 mm.

I got the concept for the sliding table from a youtube video by Ingo. I modified the design to my needs but the basic concept is the same. Here is a "look through" from the front. You can see that I didn't assembled all the wheels, bearings, nuts and bolts. I only use one to get a feeling on the dimensions and open spaces.

The dimensions of the whole table a optimized for available plywood at my local DIY store. One 21 mm and one 12 mm thick plate (each 2500 mm x 1250 mm) will be sufficient for this project. With the cuts made at the DIY store it should be around 160€ just for the wood.

I used Part Design in combination with A2P 0.4.22

Yes, please do.

I have a 1979 Sears Contractor saw that could use similar love ;)
