Hello guys,
I've decided to take a stab at modelling a tiny home project,
This project should get me acquainted with some of the latests developments in freecad and test new approach to design using a combination of open source programs.
So get get a good base for the design I made a trailer + deck so that now any potential tiny home with this size can be modelled directly in Freecad.

why limit myself ? haha no, but I figured i needed a good base (template trailer) to get started from, u know every house needs a good foundation, without it, u r flying on thin air.
Besides I needed to find out what other great updates u guys have been up to while i was missing in action

I did not use an assembly module, I modelled it directly in in, and group the objects using Part Combine. and for the deck, i modelled it in another file and use the "place external reference" to link them both. I had some issues with modeling and bringing in the the "part model, when i tested it using the wheel, i did have alot of struggle in manipulating and getting the various things i wanted when i had started modeling using the "part module and part design module"

I modelled the wheels and tires using the 'part design body, and when i brought it into the project other project using the link https://wiki.freecadweb.org/App_Link but i did find it very hard to move linked objects with the 'move tool' from the arch workbench especially after moving the original imported object after linking it. So it was not very productive but counter productive to be moving things by using the placement in the data tab.
Architects require alot of flexibility in design, so since I encoutered alot of limitations (the mindset for mechanincal and Industrial design) in Freecad I had to revert to thinking within the Architectural workbench directly for various aspects of the design.
To use the current assembly tools one must have modelled each piece standing alone and then come and assemble it all at one place, but this kind of workflow requires to already know what the pieces will look like and how the will fit together. Which is not often stuffs you know when you are starting a design.

Looking forward, they are great tools to use never the less, if there can be a harmonization of Arch and Part/Partdesign tools, I think freecad will be mature. Sometimes some tools that show up in one workbench doesn't on another WB, for example the scale tool in the Image WB is different from the Scale tool in the BIM WB and behave differently. the Image WB doesn't have all the other basic Move, Rotate, Clone.... as in the other WB upon loading, so one must constantly switch back to Draft, or Arch, or BIM WB to move, thats a bit strange and counter poroductive, there are tools that must be standard and appear in almost every WB. But i don't want to overhwhelm with my comments
