Fork, Spoon and Cup
See my below screen caps from my part files.
I built a fork, a spoon, and a cup to sharpen my freecad skills.
Then I made a jet engine frame to see how freecad would do with a more complex part. It had some weirdness with fillets where they'd break surfaces into darkened many pieced surfaces, but I got around that by using multiple fillet tools.

Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
Great work! How did you make the spoon?
Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
The spoon was the hardest! I ended up making it with the following method:
part design revolve for the fwd part of the spoon that goes in your mouth. Then lofts to make the transition part back to the handle. Then extrudes and subtracts to make the handle. See my attached freecad spoon file:
I've also posted interactive model views on my website:

Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
You got that right.
But I'm surprised the loft_planes_fixed intersection worked. AFAIK booleans are not supposed to work with non-solids.

Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
I had solid turned on for that loft. So it was a solid to solid union.
And I don't think it worked in v13. I had to fire up some v14 build union it, then save the file.

Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
The solid parameter is irrelevant since the loft_planes extrude is made of disjointed surfaces. Which should not be allowed for booleans, but it worked for you, so I won't argue further.
Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
I'm impressed. Spacether makes more sophisticated things in FreeCAD than many people (including me) in the commercial CADs.
Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
Yes, that spoon is a really complex object... spacether, would you mind if I use a screenshot of it on the showcase on the http://www.freecadweb.org page?
Re: Show your FreeCAD projects here!
Yorik, I would be delighted. I'm glad one of my parts can help showcase FreeCAD.
