BTW, the correct spelling for the name of the inventor is Stirling.

Gene
Good catch...it seems my spelling is either common error or common use for the engine name. Take your pick.
In any event, I corrected the post.
Thank you. It's a common error. ;-) According to our family records the spelling STIRLING first appeared in our family in Scotland in 1455. Strangely, the inventors of the Stirling Engine, Rev Robert Stirling and his brother James, were probably MacGregors genetically. During the proscription of the MacGregor name in Scotland in 1603, many MacGregors took the Stirling surname. Many then kept the Stirling surname when the proscription was lifted in 1774. (MacGregors and Stirlings were neighbors) The Lord Lyon of Scotland memorialized the Stirling-MacGregor relationship by matriculating the arms of the Stirlings of Fairburn ... see the arms on my web page here ... https://rickster.org/wp-content/uploads ... 988603.png

Just started using FreeCAD 0.19 and love it!

EDIT: Further research has shown that Robert and his brother James are Stirlings! They are my 6th cousins 9 times removed. :D

cheers,
Rick Stirling
