Ok, only to test PPA for U10.04 I made simple shaft . I found it in my old files from university studies. It is part of gear torque converter.
One revolve from sketch, two pads and some boolean operations - all philosophy.

I have some problems with sketcher stability. FreeCAD freeze or crash:)

Finally! Thanks kwahoo, I don't feel so alone anymore.

I've been scratching my head for interesting examples to model in FreeCAD. There's something I have in mind but I have to put aside some time to do it.

Today I used FreeCAD for next 10 minutes. I tested 2D SVG drawing extraction and SVG page to DXF converter.
I have to say: I'm really positive surprised! My shaft looks great not only in SVG, DXF exporter is also good. In the screenshot you can see DXF file (generated from my model) opened in DraftSight.
