I did the design with FreeCAD (the render was done with cadrays (here)
The design was not very complicated but the nester tool of FreeCAD was very usefull to fit the dimension of the desk with the dimension of the wood panel I found !

Please open a new thread that is solely dedicated to your post in this subforum. it would be great if you wrote some a summary of your process, lessons learned etc...and screenshots like you've added above an in the other post.

Nothing really fancy, but I was able to design some gears (using FCGear, Assembly3) for my telescope driver:
