I am new to FreeCAD and mechanical engineering in general, but I love it and have learned a lot. Too bad I couldn't have pursued engineering when I was younger. My life would have turned out completely different if I had been able to. Kids today have it so good.
I've been slowly buying parts to build a 3D printer. Whenever I buy a part, I model it using FreeCAD and assemble the parts together using Blender. Maybe I'll learn how to use the assembly workbench in FreeCAD soon. I just learned how to use the sweep tool today.
Anyways, I decided that my contribution to the forum, at least to start, is to post each part I model for the 3D printer to this thread. Then, anyone can take those models and assemble their own 3D printer, easily trying out different build methods. I'll also post screenshots and rendered images of my 3D printer as it develops. Here are my most recent screenshot and rendering.
