Winged corkscrew

Post by NewJoker »

Hi,

I followed this series of tutorials done in SolidWorks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-so_EKB_MOc

and created the model presented here:

Apart from having to give up on some fillets (which is normal in FreeCAD), I've encountered difficulties only with the screw (more here: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=72322) and bottle opener (I couldn't realize the trick with surface modeling shown here: https://youtu.be/Fp8LVb-mkV4?t=1027 and I had to model that shape using tapered extrusion of a solid).

I shared the file here: https://grabcad.com/library/winged-corkscrew-2

I work in both 0.20.1 and 0.21 dev versions but for this project I used the stable release:

Code: Select all

OS: Windows 10 Version 2009
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.20.1.29410 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-20
Hash: f5d13554ecc7a456fb6e970568ae5c74ba727563
Python 3.8.10, Qt 5.15.2, Coin 4.0.1, Vtk 8.2.0, OCC 7.6.3
