Weird thin green lines in sketch

Postby kristoforo » Thu Nov 07, 2019 4:16 pm

Hi everybody,
I'm new to FreeCAD so if this weird thing is obvious, please, excuse me.
I created a 3D model yesterday. It was perfectly fine without issues. I saved it then reopened it this morning and one of the sketches was invalid. I used the validation tool to repair it and it came back. It was all there except for the constrains. Now I have a section that has a bunch of thin green lines I haven't seen before an I can't manipulate them.
I can't seem to attach a screenshot. Do I need a minimum amount of posts to do that?
Thanks in advance!

Turns out the server didn't like the .tiff I was trying to upload but it excepted a crappy .jgp.

I managed to get rid of them by deleting the projected edges on their left side.

Have a look at this post.
Green lines are the curvature combs of the Bspline. ;)

That is interesting as I did not draw any b-splines. They were on a projected edge and they just showed up...
I'm having a heck of a learning curve with FreeCAD but if it's used the right way it is freakishly powerful!

Hello
the B-spline come when you do intersection cylindre whith plane , you probably do a complex volume like that,
If you joint your Fc file we can help you

Thank you very much for your help!
I ended up redoing my model from scratch. I came from Fusion and when I built my models I leaned heavily on existing edges when I drew new sketches. Fusion has no problem with it but FreeCAD does. When you go back and modify something, dependent sketches tend to fall apart. Now instead of projecting edges on new sketches I label my dimensions and use those to transfer them over. With this technique I'm yet to come across any issues.
