cfdof: how to generate parametric porosity of a part

Postby tder » Wed Jun 24, 2020 5:22 pm

Hello.

Using freecad 0.18.4, how can i generate a porous part with variable porosity?

What i actually want to achieve is:
1) porous cylinder (circle) with variable porosity depending on the distance from the center line (center of the circle).
I guess the following COULD WORK too:
2) a CIRCLE(or other geometric form) full of holes that have a radius dependent on the distance of the hole center to the center of the CIRCLE.
OR
3) cylinders inside a cylinder with the same center line, but distance between neighboring cylinders variable with the radius of one of the cylinders.(to manually generate such a shape takes a lot of time and modifying it even more...)

Where should i start in order to achieve this?

I can code something, if necessary and it's not a time hog, but i have limited experience and knowledge with CAD and CFD (first contact with notions, part design and CFD simulations was about 4 weeks ago, in my free time. )

Thanks.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
Have a look at training, tutorial 2.
You should ask in fem/cfdof subforum.

Thanks.

I'll check that out.
