Hi Guys,
Please excuse me I am back having problems.
I made a feecad file/part and I am trying to import it into another FeeCAD file. I get everything about import dxf,DWG...etc, but nothing about the native format.
I even tried to do the file again, but I cannot remember how I did it.
I am trying to import the wheel plate I made (Blickle...etc ) into the new file (Workbench). But I cannot find anywhere how to import the part. Also as I said, I tried to do the part again, but I cannot remember how I did it.
I only to this occassionally and I forget how to do it.
My apologies for asking a dumb question
Dan

Did you try Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V
Re: Import part from FeeCAD to existing FeeCAD file
You can always copy/paste objects from one file loaded into another.
If you want to know what you did, hide everything in a your model, and make (Part design assumed as in your file) the first sketch visible. Investgate it until you understood everything.
Then make the first feature - most often a pad - visible, look at it and understand it.
Continue with all subsequent sketches and features.
It's work! (Don't leave it to the forum helpers)

Re: Import part from FeeCAD to existing FeeCAD file
Kisolre & Chris – thank you.
I did highlight the part and Control C and then Control v. It created another sketch. But I would like to merge the 2. I am not good with working with 2 sketches. I eventually want to send the file to dxf, (after I delete the stuff I do not need).
Now Chris. The file I have no idea how I made it is only 1 sketch, It is only 2-D I have never been able to get past this. So I do not think I have a Pad. Not sure what a pad is.
Thanks
Dan

Re: Import part from FeeCAD to existing FeeCAD file
Sorry, I had opened the wrong file and it contained much more than yours.
In Sketcher workbench there is a "Merge sketches" function.

Re: Import part from FeeCAD to existing FeeCAD file
It sounds to me that you are talking about working at the complete file level, that is you want to import a complete fcstd file, i.e. a complete project not just a specific object from within a second fcstd file
If so you want the Merge Project tool, it's under either the file or tools menu.
I don't have my computer with me just now, I am on my phone. Actually I am lying in bed doing a quick bit of FreeCAD moderation before going to sleep, it's just after midnight here. I am back at my old farm again moving another load yet again, painting, cleaning the house and shed, and took another load to the dump. My new house is 7 hours driving away, going back to new house in another day or so. I have been moving for months so have made the trip many times, I have had enough of it.

Re: Import part from FeeCAD to existing FeeCAD file
Hmm...seems to me the OP was looking about File>Merge project.
That takes any FreeCAD file and adds it to the open FreeCAD file.
