[solved] Clone doesn't accept placement 0, 0, 0

Post by Boneshaker »

Hi to all,

I searched the forum for keywords clone + placement, but didn't find a related topic.
When I wanted to switch the placements from a part and its clone, the clone doesn't accept placement of the part. Part is a thickness of a cube and has placement 0,0,0 the cube has a placement somewhere else.

I investigated a little bit in an empty document:
- Make a cylinder with part WB, standard-values will do
- Give it placement e.g. 10 mm in x
- Make a clone with draft WB
- Try to give the clone placement 0, 0, 0, click OK and it jumps back to 10, 0, 0. Any other placement will do.

Same with move-tool from draft WB.

I'm using development snapshot, but the same behaviour in 0.15 release.

Same problem here but it seems any Placement other than at the origin works.

Thanks for confirming on Linux.
Knowing of it, it's no big problem. It was strange the clone didn't want to move as I thought.
Maybe it's a bug.

You're welcome. I don't think it's a big deal but I can't think of a reason why a Clone shouldn't be at 0,0,0. Nonetheless I cross posted here:
