Hi, an answer on this question depends on the OS you are using ( Windows, linux or Apple )

The templates are SVG files stored in a map where you do not have writing permission as normal user, only as super user or system administrator.
The location can be seen when you add a new drawing as Template.

The SVG file can be modified with a simple editor as gedit or notepad
Another way is to modify with a program as Inkscape, remind that groups have to be broken, the logo be removed or replaced and the groups have to be rebuilt, otherwise all non editable text will change to editable text

In the A3_Landscape_plain.svg file:

I added the "logo switch" in most of the drawing templates for convenience. But remember don't use more than one drawing template of the same size in document when using FreeCAD 0.16. And don't use custom drawing templates in FreeCAD 0.16 at all. As when doing that you will be hit by lots of oppressing issues.

P.S. If you will only change the "switch" for logo in default set of drawing templates. This will work as long as the file will be opened on the same computer where the change was made. On different computer the logo will be back (after recompute). ;)

In the A3_Landscape_plain.svg file:
<!-- Set display:none to hide FreeCAD Logo -->
Thank you !!
its working
Years later ... need some help, how to edit or where to find the switch:

1. Edit svg file:
<!-- Set display:none to hide FreeCAD Logo -->
Would I simply change the line into:
<display:none>
Or make the line blank ?
Or delete the line completely ?
Or somewhere else I need to make changes in the XML text ?

2. I checked in EDIT>PREFERENCES>TECHDRAW> all items, but could not find any possible item to switch Logo ON or OFF, neither in English nor German language.

3. new subect:
How to incrase the area surrounding the drawn item?
I would like to increase the area of the dashed line surrounding my drawing.

You can remove the logo from the template and save it as a new one. For more details, have a link at the wiki: TechDraw_TemplateHowTo

Next time: Please open a new thread.

Well, I could not understand exactly, how to proceed.

Anyhow, by chance, I found out to double-klick on the line below that memo line:
svg:g id="freecad-logo"
Then a new menu opens.
In this menu I found the item "display" and I change the value from "inline" into "none".
Problem solved.

I'm on my mobile atm but you should be able to click on the logo (using inkscape) and delete it.

Regarding your second question: Yes please! Right now, I have no clue what you're trying to achieve.
