How stable is FC 0.17? Anybody using it for production?

Development releases are in general not suitable to be used in production environment.

Ok, this begs the question what are people using for production?

I was considering using 0.17 when I get so frustrated with 0.16 numerous small issues but is 0.17 really un-usable?

0.17 isn't realy unstable, but things are changing very often because there are daily updates and changes...
I work with it since it comes out, because OpenSuse doesn't offer a 0.16 as rpm at this time. I have no problems to work with it, but i don't make my money with the (for me) "productive stuff" i make with FC.

Thanks, yeah, for me "production work" means hobby stuff I hope to complete and cate so much that I actually want to invest so much that I care to learn an other CAD system. For paid work I use different tools.

To me 0.17 seems as usable as 0.16 as far as stability is concerned.
So you have to wheigh the additional and improved functions vs. possible design changes. As long as you don't update your version the latter is not a point.

just for info. The 20-m-steel mast was designed with FC0.16

I am using FC 0.16 for production use, I make money on it. most of the time I create parts to export and further analyze in Code-Aster. for thermal and mechanical.

I am also using FC for a SIP Panel construction. hopefully I will post pictures latter.

Since we are looking forward to 0.17 release I would say you better start testing 0.17 now
