The difference is, that no numbering of faces is involved and thus we don't have a topo naming problem.

It would seem to me that you can say the same thing about sketches that are not attached to a face, edge, or vertex.
Must be losing something in the translation.

Thanks for the detailed explanations. Step by step I am getting closer manage DatumPlanes.

Cancelling a DatumPlane panel takes 12 seconds here, which is too much for looking to and fro.

Ubuntu is ok, 2-3 seconds. Even on the virtual machine running on the mac. It's definitely FreeCAD.I will wait until the daily ppa has reached 13559.
