Arch section detail workflow help (v.18 pre)

I am unsure what the workflow might be for creating a small detail using arch section. I want to create a drawing that is limited to one small piece of a larger structure, like the detail of how joists are connected to the top of the roof, for some drawings. I I am a few days behind on daily (.18 pre).

Any help is appreciated
