Hi,
I like understand how is't possible with FC 0,18 import one step file (inside it's only one part), rotate of 180° and export on .step file without create .step file with a lot subpart inside.
This because IDF import have problems it the .step file have inside more sub parts
thanks

You want to remove the inner parts?
Note: Lattice2 workbench must be installed from Tools -> Addon Manager menu.

it seems something for Defeaturing/Repairing WB
BTW @fiffo in which way did you modify the STEP model?
the one from Molex is a single Solid plus a Compound, and not a bunch of shells...

Re: Import and export step file without multiple parts for IDF
Hi,
I changed the position and rotation of original Molex step file and exported as .step by freecad.
The export freecad create all this sub items that I need to remove to work correctly with IDF import.
The IDF import don't put the step model in the right position on pcb if the imported step component 3D file is not a single item.
This is the reason becuase I need to export .step file with only one part inside.

1) can you post your full fc info? (top link forum rules)fiffo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 20, 2018 6:56 am Hi,

2) I cannot replicate your issue, can you post a screencast of what you did to export the file?
3) can you post a screenshot of your fc step import/export preferences
4) did you get your file from here?
http://www.molex.com/pdm_docs/stp/10-63-4037_stp.zip
you should get a solid or a solid and a compound, depending on your import preferences EDIT:
you probably exported the STEP model from an IGES model... then you could have a multi shell object
