Entity type differentiation from IGES files
I'd been frustrated by importing IGES files into FreeCAD and finding that they import as a group that can't be broken down, downgrading causes the entities to be deleted en masse. Then I discovered that opening the IGES file instead of importing it allowed the group to be downgraded to entities which can be copied and pasted individually into another file, which would instantly make it more useful to me than .dxf, except that all entities from a downgraded IGES file are identified generically as "edge n" even though features like arc and circle centres, line midpoints and intersections are retained and recognised to be available as snap features. Is edge-naming rather than entity type a function of OpenCascade kernel, or a FreeCAD function? Entities are differentiated internally in the IGES file, can that entity differentiation be recovered in FreeCAD automatically?
