[SOLVED] Selection View Search slow

Hello FC Team!

That is acutaly not a question for help but a recommendation for usability improvment. I am working with somehow big projects where i often have to search for special parts in the model. I do that by labeling them properly and afterwards I try to find them with the selection view window, which is really comoforable.

This search windows has only the strange behaviour that it works really slow on bigger projects (about 4 sec). Based on that, that is only a string I think the search should not be that slow, cause its only a search for strings in strings. Maybe it is also based on the fact. I would be really happy, and it would improve my workpeformance and calm my nerves, if this search could work a bit better.

Hi
It is not very good to make a big project in a single drawing
if you have to modify a detail, it can quickly become tiring
if you make several drawings, you can use a detail in another project
if you want to give each piece to manufacture you will not have to redraw each separately
unless you do in the arch. where it is difficult to make a building by piece, although there is kit, or prefabricated elements, such as lintel, door frame, etc.

thank you for the answer. As you mentioned it is for an arch project. But will have in mind what you mentioned for other projects

Indeed this slowness is something I want to address too. I think one easy solution would be to not select anything while you are typing, and only select when enter is pressed. I'll look at that today
