I tried,

It asks, Open emn as,IDF PCB files formates & PCB file formats
then I pressed-IDF PCB files formates - Select

But the FC software hanged.
It didn't opened.

Hi,
normaly there are two file: .emn and .emp.
In your attachment there is only .emn.
Do you don't have also .emp?

try the other option 'IDF emn file':

No problem here neither with 0.17 nor with 0.18 releases.
But it looks like the 0.17 is using also the 0.18 IDF importing script...
Anyway, could you provide your FC information as described here : https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2264
Also could you copy the information in the report pane ?

EMP is for describing parts that equip the board. If you just have the PCB (without parts on it), no EMP file will be generated.

It seems like the PCB workbench (you can add through Addon Manager) is able to import BRD files. I don't know if it works well, never tested it.

As in this link, .brd is used for Eagle file brd format, not Allegro.

True. Read & knew that but (badly) guess ECAD was Eagle. I didn't take time neither to open the EMN in a text editor nor to carefully read the thread history. My mistake.
