Newbie - Setting a part level with x0 y0 z0

Post by Beardy »

I am new to all this and only been using FreeCAD for a week.
So the problem I am having and struggling to sort it, I have draw a part I want to 3D print, but it involved the part being set on a angle.
So when I have exported this to print it doesn't show the part flush with the bed because of the angle.
So I am after knowing how am I able to select a point on the part and set this to x0 y0 z0 so the part stands straight.
Can someone point me in the right direction or maybe even a video.
I have searched on here but can not find anything plus I don't really know what I am looking for.

Thank you in advance

Hi Beardy, welcome to the forum.
You can change the Placement of your object, e.g. with the Transform tool or via the Placement panel. However, I have observed that my slicer (Cura) wants to be smart and turns the part itself. But I can turn the part in the slicer and I would guess that all slicers will support this.

Hi Beardy,

Slic3r PE does this for you. Just select the lighter green face on the photo below and then it will place that face on the bed.
