How to connect multiple helices end to end

Postby scottdmills71 » Wed Jan 23, 2019 12:52 am

The model I am trying to create is half pipe I would like to sweep along a very convoluted path that i would like to make of multiple helices and edges from vertices. I have connected a few individual helices by moving the numerically based on the two points coordinates that I see when i hover over them. This mostly worked fine except for some, the problem comes when I go to put in a coordinate, that i read to 6 decimal places , but freecad truncates it at 3 , and since I have a break in the path I cannot sweep along it. is there an easier way to connect 3 dimensional line geometry at endpoints, ie some sort of snap to point?

In Draft workbench you can use snapping:
- Enable endpoints snap.
- Select the helix to be moved
- Click the move-icon
- Click the endpoint you want to attach, subsequent moving of the mouse shows a moving connection line
- Click the endpoint of the other helix

Maybe JoinCurves from Curves WB can help you? It's very easy to use it.
