Freecad restarts on exit

Postby drmacro » Thu Feb 14, 2019 7:52 pm

If I run freecad, then select File>Exit or hit the x in the upper right corner, it shuts down the restarts.

If I, after it restarts, I select Exit or X, it shuts down normally.

I did some searching with terms like restart, but, didn't see anything.

No big deal...just makes getting to the first beer at the end of the day take a few seconds longer. :lol:

Re: Freecad restarts on exit

I had, for a previous update, set up a shell script to launch FC because of graphics issues. It has two lines:

Code: Select all

LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE=true freecad-daily
When I use this script FC restarts when I exit. When I created the script, I did a cut-n-paste from the source of the graphics fix. For some reason I thought the freecad-daily at the end of the line was part of the LIBGL... setting and the second line was launching FC.

Obviously it is not and when the instance of FC from the first line executes the second line.

Silly me :oops: Guess it's been a while since I did some shell scripts.

In any case, the LIBGL setting is apparently no longer needed, so neither is the script.

Yes, using such launcher would start freecad again, after FreeCAD gets closed.

P.S. Thanks for getting back to us, explaining the problem involved and solution.
