Draft resizes main FreeCAD app?

Post by garya »

I'm playing around with Draft WB and have noticed that it resizes the complete FreeCAD app at times, and it does it to a size larger than my display, so it's frustrating.
Is this intentional, or a bug?

What kind of version do you use?

It's built from source on freebsd.
Fairly recent source, as of about Feb 19

No, there isn't one for freebsd. I *might* be able to try to run a linux version, but I suspect there would be all sorts of library conflicts unless they are all bundled. Can you point me at appimages for v18? I'm not sure where to look; I don't see them on the download page.

I have a sneaking suspicion this is related to display resolution / width.
What size is your display?
I'm at 1280 x 1024.

Can you switch to 1280 x 1024 and try this:
Part Design wb
Resize FreeCAD somewhat smaller than the full display
Make sure the left hand column (Model/Task view area) takes up some space;
mine is about 350 pixels wide, but looks like it doesn't matter
New Document
Switch to Draft wb
Click on draw a rectangle
Before even drawing anything, the 3D view area expands and cannot be resized smaller;
I have to switch back to Part Design to resize it smaller.

Thanks, will try one; didn't think to look for current stuff under releases...

The Appimage is the version with all libraries bundled.

Edit: a bit late to the party, had the browser tab still open.
