FC 0.17> DXF/DWG imports nothing, blank data

Can't use ver. 0.17 for inter-project data manipulation.

It fails importing both, DXF, and DWG drafts.
Of course I installed ODA converter for DWG support, and included the path to binary into FC config.

So FC makes a face like there was no error. The file name is in the object tree. But the data is blank - no lines, no frames, no blocks... just nothing is imported.

The headers of DXF we get from SolidWorks contain:

Though, DWG does not work either.

AFAIK only 2D DXF/DWG elements can be imported.

best is to save or order the dxf in a older version Acad 12 or even lower then 29

I prefer to use ODA Drawings Explorer to view and convert DWG files. It's very fast and provide different fileformat to convert.

Roy_043, yes, I am importing 2D drafts.

openBrain, I do not know what is legacy, but "script" dxf importer produces some results, resembling the data to be imported. However, the quality is below acceptable (worse when InkScape do)

pl7i92LCNC, I am not sure whether it is possible. Then, curves should remain curves, and in older versions they can become chords, if I am not mistaken... anyway, AutoCAD 2000 looks quite old.

freecad-heini-1, I am not sure about ODA Explorer, but ODA converter fails to import these DWG. It is possible that the code has the same origins, and fails the same way.

No by security reasons. But most of them are 2D drawings exported from SolidWorks. Readable in AutoCAD trial, and ME10.

If you have access to an AC trial you can test if saving to a lower version improves the quality of the FC import.
But without an actual DXF it is impossible to diagnose the problem. Why not create a DXF from a 'dummy' SolidWorks file?
