Re: export front view as 2D

Post by aduarte »

Hello,

I'm having a similar issue on v0.19, on Win 10 x64.

I opened an STP file and rotate the object to obtain the desired viewpoint.

I selected Export and activated the "... along viewing direction" option.

The resulting DWG is always exported using the "Top View", and not the current view.

Any ideas ?

can you test on v0.20(development) please? https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Bund ... kly-builds
backup your file beforehand as v0.20 hasn't been officially released yet

Hello,

I have installed v0.20 and tried exporting, but I am getting empty dwg output.

I am attaching the file I am trying to export. Just selected isometric view and then File - Export - DWG format

I have ODAFileConverter 23.3.0 installed.

For this option you need to use the legacy exporter.

Thanks,

But you are exporting to 3D DWG.

What I need is to export a flattened 3D view from a specific viewing direction to 2D DWG.

This is an odd bug, because it used to work perfectly on v0.17.

I have tried the legacy exporter, using the options attached.

The resulting DWG file is empty.

  1. Delete the Std_Part (but do not delete its content).
  2. Create a Part_Compound from the objects.
  3. Select the compound.
  4. Std_Export...
The curved handle(?) doesn't come out as it should for some reason though.
