Addon manager does not show update for a2plus

In this thread https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=35254 I found out that Addon Manager does not show update to a2plus WB when selecting the WB or checking all for updates. I had 0.4.0 installed, removed it, installed again and now it showed 0.4.10. How is the check for updates realized? Does a2plus properly anounce that there is an update?

On Github i am using release tags for A2plus. Does someone know if there it is necessary to do some things more ? I thought using tags would be enough information for the addon manager. (And before today there were no complains about such problems.)

Latest updates that I saw and showed as updates in addon manager were BIM, flamingo, kiCadStepUpMod, Litophane, Reinforcement. Maybe check how they do it?
For me it looks like somebody has to manualy pull updates here https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-addons/

(And before today there were no complains about such problems.)

Unfortunately it's one of those Catch22 situations, if a user has never seen the function work because they have only installed AddOn Workbenches that are all in the same condition as A2Plus then they won't complain because they probably aren't aware. Without going through every single one of my AddOn Wbs, I'd say they all don't work correctly as I've never had the 'An Update is available' message. Is GitPython a pre-requisite for this Update function to work correctly, if so, then maybe that's the root cause?
