AppImage Defaults to /tmp/.mount_FreeCAyRZzbu

I could not get anything to run on mu Ubuntu 18.04 LTS laptop other than the v0.18 AppImage. Whenever I open a dialog that interacts with the file system (Open, Save, Fonts, etc...) it always defaults to /tmp/.mount_FreeCAyRZzbu. Is there anyway that I can make this default to a more system normal directory?
