Sweep and loft together

Post by flyfish »

I'm trying to create a pistol grip for cnc and having trouble sweeping and lofting at the same time. I have 2 outlines that I want to follow but I can't figure out how to make this work. I want to take the curved sketch008 to sketch007 using sketch006 for the paths. I'm not sure this is possible. When I try this I get error messages. I've attached a small practice part that I'm working with. The only thing I've found is using a helix, I don't think that will work. I hope I've explained this OK.

Sweep can't work with 2 paths and loft doesn't like a circle mix with a square.
So, this is something made with CurvesWB.
Hoping it can help you.

Thanks, that might work. I need to figure out what you used to do that. I don't see a Curves work bench.

You have to install it with the Addon manager.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

Fairly extensive forum topic here. Ask for help there if you run into trouble.

I have been able to duplicate the model provided by GlouGlou until I get to the "shell". I'm not sure what workbench that is in and what edges or surfaces are picked to create the top portion of the grip. Need help.
Thanks

Part WB/Part/Shape builder.../Shell from faces
Then if your shell is closed use the same to convert to solid.
But here it looks there are some errors and the result is not an actual closed solid so using it as PartDesign base feature to add extra features (rivet holes,...) fails.

OK, Thanks. I'll check the one I'm working on and see if I can fix it.
