Need help with Boolean Cut

Hello,

If anyone could help me that would be awesome.
I can't do the cut I want

I have those two parts :



and I'd like to keep the bottom of the 1st part, by "cutting" the 2nd one from it.

The problem is that it doesn't work.
I tried selecting the 1st part first, then the 2nd. Or the opposite.

Best I could do was to do the opposite of what I want = removing the 1st part from the 2nd...



The other outcome result in an empty document (both parts gone).

Am I doing anything wrong ? (I guess I am )

I think it was imported as a mesh, then converted to a solid. Probably the mesh had issues.

Looks like you two are right, first thing I would check is when the mesh was converted to a shape was it converted to a solid or just a shell? Also often you get self-intersecting issues or the mesh was not a "water tight" mesh (had gaps, missing faces).

Try Part WB "Check Geometry" in the Pat menu, look for errors in the output and expand the "Shape Content" window to see what it says.

I actually redid the file because the one I made in the OP about was on my work laptop, and this is on my home PC...
anyway, sorry for the trouble

I can't simply remove the grey part from the purple part.

I would have a look if you can upload it to a fileservice where no accepting of any conditions beyond accepting cookies is involved.

I attached the file here by splitting it, remove the ".RENAME-ME.TXT" at the end of the files. It's a splitted zip file
