Subtractive loft selection in part design

Post by kshots »

Using:
OS: Gentoo/Linux (GNOME/gnome)
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.19.17429 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: (HEAD detached at refs/git-r3/HEAD)
Hash: 5c9b0f90ab9c913eaeccc73b564dc5a3f41d0697
Python version: 3.6.5
Qt version: 5.12.3
Coin version: 4.0.0a
OCC version: 7.3.0
Locale: English/United States (en_US)
... and referencing the subtractive loft instructions, I'm attempting to run a subtractive loft between two sketches in my part. I can select one sketch (if I pre-select it from my tree), but when I hit "Add Section" after the initial sketch is selected and click the sketch I'm attempting to select, it instead selects an overlapping part feature that isn't valid for the loft. Any way to filter parts out or guidelines on narrowing the selection? I'm very new to FreeCAD... and I'm afraid my last CAD experience was with AutoCAD r14, which was a very different animal.

Attached is the part in question

Switch to the Model tab and hide everything except the section.

I now feel like an idiot... I could have sworn I tried that and it popped back when I went back to the tasks tab, but I just tried it and it worked as described. Thanks!

There are some Sketcher settings in the preferences controlling what is shown when a sketch is edited.
