Tick #4099 - Crash on Wall create (because of faulty DXF which crashes FC)

Im trying to work with BIM WB and experience a few issues. What I did was:
- Import DXF files with floor plans
- Move plans in stack with floor height distance in between
Everything went fine but after all done I start notice some strange things

Weired rendering
While rotate and zoome some parts of plans become invisble

and on another angle/zoom appears again. Also it appears if mouse cross some (even invisible) line.

Not sure if that is a bug or something wrong with my rendering settings, help needs as it is quite annoying :(

Crash
Now when I get used with rendering behaviour I was trying to create a wall:
- Select some wire on the basement floor and press "wall". FC crashed, that a bit more annoying then missing lines on a plan :D

*UPD*: I've compiled GIT master - same problems on FreeCAD 0.19 Revision: 17903 (Git)

I think there are some issues with the DXF. Your plans are relatively far from the origin (X=5,000,000; Y=1,000,000). And using Std_ViewFitAll leads to a very zoomed out view indicating that there are perhaps some 'garbage' elements in 'outer space'.
Digging in the FCStd file (which is in fact a ZIP file) I find PartShape#.brp files containing -nan entries (I assume: NAN=not a number), which seems bad.
Can you perhaps post the DXF?

And yes there are some import problems with it.

Also yesterday I was trying different import options and if I set "Import hatch boundaries as wires" and "*blocks" then FC stop crash on Wall object creation.

The DXF indeed has some issues.

I have fixed the file using BricsCAD. Here are my steps:
  1. Erase all elements on the layout (to get a smaller file).
  2. Erase all hatch patterns.
  3. Erase garbage dimensions near origin.
  4. Use the _Audit command: this fixes 250 errors (mainly: Value: Z coordinate - 2e+050).
  5. Use the _OverKill command: 125 overlapping entities or segment(s) are deleted.
  6. Move the plans closer to the origin.
  7. Use the _Purge command.
  8. Erase 3 polylines on the Defpoints layer.
  9. Save as dwg and save as R12 dxf.

That is amaizing, thanks a lot, now everything runs smooth.

Should I leave originl issue openned? From my perspective crash is not a good thing even if caused some messy drawings...

This is a special case: Bad DXF, results in bad import, results in unexpected error. But ideally a program should never crash.
I would leave the issue open but add the information that a bad DXF is probably the root cause.

Hi there!

I was trying to reproduce this crash, but I have been unable to (I have used Arc create wall).
