Grid from draft workbench doesn't go away

Postby freecc » Sun Sep 01, 2019 10:33 pm

Say I make a cube in part WB. Now I go to draft WB and create a polar or a rectangular matrix. A net appears in the background and this net doesn't disappear when I change WB.
I don't understand why this background net appears in the first place and that it never disappears can't be right.
I just wanted to make you aware about this and hope you fix it. It's been like this for a long time.

I think you mean the grid: Draft ToggleGrid. You can turn it off if you want.

A grid is an extremely useful element in 2D drawing as it allows you to snap 2D elements like lines, rectangles, circles, etc., to precise points that are spaced a certain distance. In general it doesn't present a huge problem, which is why most people don't consider it a problem. It is however, mostly useful in the Draft Workbench, and other workbenches don't really use it.

The visibility is indeed a bit cumbersome. See issue #3817.

Maybe a little under utilized in Part Design. I haven't used these much but I will now.
