emboss a sketch into a curved element (like a helmet)
New to the forum and trying to learn the software the best I can. How do you guys go by to emboss a sketch into a face of solid? I tried a couple of things, but since I'm new to the software and my cad skills are sort of limited; would like to see if some of you have any tips or if it's even possible to do

Re: emboss a sketch into a curved element (like a helmet)
welcome to the forum.
sketches are planar objects, the can only be mapped to planar surfaces.
For non planar surfaces we create a sketch in a tangent plane for a point of the surface and then make a projection down to the surface.
this ist not a task for cad beginners. when you start learning cad you should first try the beginner example videos.
When you have a feeling for cad objects you may reask the question with more background knowledge.

One of many solutions

Something like this probably https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=33700? Just a projection, not wrap around.

This sounds to me like asking just for a pocket. Please have a look at the PartDesign Tutorials.jmiranduas wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 3:27 am New to the forum and trying to learn the software the best I can.
