Must say that working with solids is difficult for me, I'am 51 years old so my tech base is flat drawing and still thinking in flat, also I'am a machinist so that's my second limitation, I draw the way I machine stuff, I never add shapes to a solid since my machine can't do that, it can only take away material with it so I draw my base material (round for the lathe or laser cutted sheet for machining) and then add every step the way I would do it on the machine on top off that, main advantage is that whatever I draw I really can make ;-)
