Something's up... I tried distToShape with python, and it gave the correct result. That's quite strange, as proximity uses distToShape too, essentially... Certainly worth a tracker ticket.

Good you mention it. It sure is related, but it is more than what is needed here. Obviously this used to work and is currently not working, so I will create a report anyway.
