Bad cut with making threads

Post by SupDoc »

As you can see from the image, after doing the sweep with the triangle, and applying the Boolean cut operation - the cut only removed the left half of the triangle. Any idea what is going on, and how to fix this?

You are adding thread on tapered surface .

Your triangle profile is in tapered surface, modify it to go out of tapered surface to see the cut properly(correctly). Hope this helps.

Manage 0.3mm to right for the sketch of the cylinder , or to left for the triangle , and all is perfect , especialy for the begening of the thread to the chanfer

If you work in PartDesign, you should use a PartSesign subtractive pipe to create the thread.

A tapered thread with more problems

Post by SupDoc »

I fixed the taper problem, as you can see from trans_to_fittings2 and got exactly the threads I wanted. However, when I added a fillet to the outer radius and a small cylinder to the outer rim, everything changed & I lost my threads.

It did tell me that I was working with an inactive form. What does that mean & how do I fix that?

Where did my threads go & how do I get them back?

I have found it's best to add the thread instead of trying to cut it out. I also added a starter to the thread. I changed many dims so this is an example.
