Convert stl to solid problem

Hi guys
i need to convert Stl file to step for using Solidworks.Then i found freecad but there is a problem
The problem is about my part i found so many steps convert stl to solid. i watched that steps
Here is the steps i watched
1-) opened new file
2-) import stl file
3-) picked the file after that in the toolbar part section i choose create shape from mesh
i confirm mesh value but suddenly the program doesnt answer mistakes comes up

I thinking about my stl file. its a 3d scanner file and its very big size like 40mb and i suspect that the file didnt mesh or like that

Sure with a bigest file as that Fc fall on knies

In addition to that,i bet, the file is not a solid . Use meshmixer or meshlab to bring it down to a reasonable and error free file
Keep in mind FreeCAD is a technically oriented CAD..for such, blender or the like might be better.

The file scaned from Artec 3d scanner. i need a solid model to do some changes on the part like cutting piece inside it. They said that you need to buy GeomagicDesignX for this applications

Can you share your STL file for some experiments? BTW, there are more cheap solutions like the new QuickSurface reverse engineering software.
