Integer in spreadsheet ?

Post by fcaduser »

Hi FC people.

I would like some parameters which are intrinsically integers displayed as such in spreadsheet.
Example : the number of teeth of a gear is shown as 28,0000 not 28

Is it possible ? Documentation doesn't say anything about.

I wonder if it is not possible to implement embedded LibreOffice Calc with all the functions that are needed for a full-featured spreadsheet.

FYI, there has been discussion of this before: issue #2474

OK, so a sort of confirmation it can't be done.

Not sure where you read and surmised that.
It's an open Feature Request. It's probably not a small task to undertake, but still do-able.

Anyway, there is a pending PR (https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/3062) for a big expressions refractor.

Use 0.17 release, sorry! This was a regression brought in the 0.18 development phase. The last build I have where this works as you describe was:

OS: Windows 7
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.18.14575 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: master
Hash: a624fee2c27bbbb869df6a8ce40438953a282a8c
Python version: 2.7.14
Qt version: 4.8.7
Coin version: 4.0.0a
OCC version: 7.2.0
Locale: English/UnitedKingdom (en_GB)

Bizarrely the spreadsheet which best highlighted the issue to me is a roller chain calculator that @ppemawm posted back in 2016 https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?t=18267

@syres
OK so I will wait for the correction.

@kunda1
Usually when a solution exists for such a trivial problem there is always a user unveiling it quickly, therefore what I supposed.
