Thickness Limitation, Part 2

Post by AlStu »

Thanks to previous help, this part was able to be made thicker. Now there is a new limitation of Thickness in v0.19. The part has longtitudinal symetry. With straight sides it can be easily 10mm thick and more. However, replacing the straight sides with very shallow curves limits the thickness, in this example to 3.6mm. To be clear, the two parts are identical except for the straight or curved sides on one of the three sketches making up the part.

I tried changing the radius of the curves to have the intersection be >90° and then <90°. The radius does affect max thickness, specifically a larger radius allows a larger thickness but still quite limited, similarly short radius limits the thickness until none is possible.
Attached are "...04-29b" with straight sides and good thickness, and, "...04-29c" with curved sides and limited thickness.
Any suggestions?
