Re: Creating a face from sketch failed
There was a single line at the bottom right corner.Removing it fixes the pad.e_dsw wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2020 8:44 am Hello,
I'm having the same problem described above. i made a simple sketch and i can't pad it. The problem seems to come from the last 2 profiles that can't appear on the pad but i don't know why.
I hope you can help me, i'm just starting on freecad. Thanks in advance.
But this is not how you do this. First create the plate and then cut the holes. If you want to proceed with questions about your design please start a new thread.
Re: Creating a face from sketch failed

Re: Creating a face from sketch failed
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Not sure if this should have gone to a new topic. It's somehow the same issue, but a different sketch and different cause.
Your sketch contains self intersections. To be paddable a sketch must be closed and all vertices must connect exactly two lines/curves. The latter condition is not fulfilled.
There is another condition: Nesting of closed parts of the sketch is limited to 1, i.e. inside of the inner sketch there is nothing allowed.

Re: Creating a face from sketch failed
There are no welldefined contours to be padded in your sketch. So the pad cannot determine what is inside the contour and what is outside. Could you paint what you expect to be padded?

I am also trying to pad an object. It is much more complex than the initial design, i'll have it linked here.

You can't have T junctions in your sketch.ConnorBennett wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 9:03 pm I am also trying to pad an object. It is much more complex than the initial design, i'll have it linked here.
