Assembly4 Part attachment

Post by sjam986 »

I have created a base - crankshaft - conrod assembly with 3 conrods - one in the Sketch_master plane and the other two offset along the rotation axis. The conrods are each an assembly. I have created a Sketch_master for the central conrod and two other offset sketches for the other conrods, complete with all the LCS at the correct points and orientations. The animation of the model sketch is correct in that the 3 crank arms rotate together and all the LCS follow correctly in position and orientation. When I attach the conrod on the master sketch plane the animation is correct. When I attach the 2nd or 3rd conrod to the offset positions they line up correctly but they do not follow the sketch rotation. The orientation of the LCS is identical to the sketch LCS for each conrod assembly.
Are there further checks I need to make to get this to work?
p.s. I could attach the model but it is fairly big and scruffy!

****** Hang fire on that last post *****
Problem solved - I drew the big end of conrods 2 & 3 in the wrong orientation. Re-drew it in the correct orientation and all works.
Sorry if I have wasted time.
