Hello guys,
Running into my/a limitation with a metal sheet drawing, I can draw the shape I want and I can draw on the exploded sheet but I would want to combine those 2.
This is the shape:
And this the drawing of the exploded/flattened sheet:
I would love to have those perforations in the shape as well, how do I combine those 2?

Re: is folding a solid possible?
Is this perforation a projected surface or unfolded? Wouldn't subtraction work?
That is are these holes rectangular in the real world?

Re: is folding a solid possible?
It's on the unfolded sheet (for lasercutting the perforation drawn afterwards is fine) but somehow I can't stand to know how to really draw it
I have no clue where to find substraction, tried some boolean from part WB but that didn't work out.

Re: is folding a solid possible?
I'm not sure if this is what you want or not, but you could combine both bodies into a single document, make clones of the bodies, adjust the scales, position them together, and take the common.
The file is too large to attach.

Thanks guys!
Got a result, not sure how the common takes it's limits but I'am getting somewhere!

Re: is folding a solid possible?
this is the best I can do
we cannot use the bend tool along a line because there is too much intersection with the square holes
this tool has a lot of limitation
I think you have to do the job in 2 times: first do the laser cut sheet by hand as you did
and to have an overview of the finished part: we can make the bends with the tool (if it wants to work well) and the holes in 2 times: first horizontal lines to the best of the curve, then the vertical lines and do a fusion
In my file, the fusion is not finished to have an exportable file

Re: is folding a solid possible?
For making the part in real life I draw the bend sheet in sheetmetalWB, unfold it (lasercut the flattened uncut sheet, fit and adjust size if needed) and make the cuts afterwards and then do the final lasercutting.
How do I install the modified sheetmetalWB?
It's one of my most used WB's so I am eager to test it and see if old drawings are affected or not.
