Constraining B-Spline

Postby Rylord » Sat Oct 24, 2020 8:42 pm

Is there a way to create a spline or curve out of points directly on the curve? The spline in sketcher constrains itself based on control points external to the curve. This is good for free-form sketches, however, I need to dimension the spline to go around an object and need to control points on the curve directly.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated, thanks guys and gals.

You can use the Draft B-spline. If you need it as a sketch you can later transform it using the convert tool from Draft workbench.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf deutsch, en français, en español.

Not sure if the results would suffice or not, but could you use a polyline then use the convert geometry to b-spline tool? I am on my phone so can't test, I think that tool might have arrived in 0.19, go to sketcher workbench in the wiki and it is there somewhere, maybe under bspline tools or something like that.
