View on DatumPlane

Hello all,

My first post here. I am a hobbist previously with SketchUp, and just started a project with FreeCAD - amazing software BTW.

In TechDraw I would like to use a view perpendicular to a DatumPlane. I can manage to make it approximately, but it is not perfect, and dimension are a little bit off. Any hint how to do that?

If you are doing anything with TechDraw particularly, update to the latest snapshot of 0.19 which now has well over 6 thousand bug fix and new feature code commits.

Oh! I did think of another way. If you go into Preferences-Sketcher and un-click "Restore camera position after editing" your view won't change after you close a sketch. So, if you then open a sketch that is on the datum plane the view will change to Normal to the datum plane. Your view should stay that way when you leave sketcher.

FC_Camera can align the view perpendicular to a plane. However, the views are often turned in a surprising way around the camera axis.

At first I thought this isn´t going to work, because the view kept flipping back and forth. But with TechDraw this actually does the trick!
